The Chair is an XR experience that explores daydreaming as a spatial and sensory transformation. Participants begin in a physical, staged living room—a space of routine and comfort serving as the “real-world” anchor. As the participant settles into a daydream, the room’s boundaries dissolve. The walls expand outward, transitioning into a symbolic, dreamlike immersive forest landscape composed of floating, audio-reactive “thought bubbles”. Interaction is tactile; touching these spheres triggers a localized soundscape of whispered, multi-lingual narratives. This chorus of voices reflects the poetic nature of escapism and shared human sentiment. The forest becomes a metaphorical cognitive space where internal processes become visible, spatialized, and embodied. The participant is eventually returned to the physical room, yet the environment has undergone a subtle metamorphosis. Proportions are slightly distorted and the atmosphere has shifted, illustrating how imagination leaves lasting traces on our surroundings. By translating invisible mental states into a navigable XR environment, the project invites participants to reflect on the fragile boundary between physical reality and inner worlds, highlighting how perception continuously shifts between external and internal realities.
