The Forever Elephant

The Forever Elephant is a digital puppetry interactive game combining experimental animation and 3D-scanned antique dolls and elephant toys. In this 15-minute experience, you embody a dead elephant wandering through a liminal space in search of a body for its next life. This is a full-body motioncapture based interactive game developed in Unity that requires no wearable devices. A single player, standing within a 3–5 meter range in front of the screen, can embody the elephant in the game—running, jumping, and interacting through their own bodily movements. In addition, we created a one-meter-long robotic elephant trunk that guides the player’s direction within the space.
